Minister Fast Celebrates Bombardier Aerospace Success in Russia

June 7, 2012 – Moscow, Russia – The Honourable Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway, welcomes the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) decision to certify the Bombardier Aerospace Q400 turboprop aircraft for operation in Russia and other members of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

Russia and its partners in the CIS are key international growth markets for Bombardier. This approval is good news for Canada and Russia, because it has the potential to create jobs, growth and long-term prosperity for citizens of both countries.

Minister Fast witnessed the presentation of the certificate to Bombardier at the Interstate Aviation Committee’s headquarters in Moscow during his trade mission to Russia. The trade mission includes representatives of some 30 companies.
